BOROUGH FILM is an independent production company based in Sofia, Bulgaria, founded in 1992 by producer Vladimir Andreev. Over the past three decades, the company has produced and co-produced feature films and documentaries, while participating in numerous international collaborations across Europe.
Its productions include Georgi Djulgerov's Lady Zee (winner of the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Film), The Goat and Memoir of a Betrayal, Kostadin Bonev's The Sinking of Sozopol, Nadezhda Koseva's Bulgarian-German co-production The Trap, Stefan Ivanov's documentary The Road Ahead (Bulgaria–Canada), and the Bulgarian-German documentary Bulgaria, Of All Places.
BOROUGH FILM has also participated in a number of internationally recognised European productions in an executive production capacity, including Emil Christov's The Color of the Chameleon, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, Veit Helmer's Tuvalu, and the Bulgarian-German-Hungarian-Slovenian co-production The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks Around the Corner.
With a history spanning more than thirty years, BOROUGH FILM continues to develop and produce auteur-driven projects with international co-production potential, working with both established and emerging filmmakers while maintaining a strong commitment to independent European cinema.
